During this free virtual program, seasoned educators will discuss the importance of incorporating accurate historical context when teaching about the Holocaust in middle and high school English classrooms.

Join us to learn how stories of individual choice and motivation will be conveyed in the Museum’s new Permanent Exhibition, ten years in development and made possible by generous donors. Meet some of the survivors who currently volunteer and honor all survivors who have dedicated themselves to ensuring the truth of the Holocaust is secured.

Established in 1996, the Museum Teacher Fellowship Program at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum empowers highly-skilled teachers to support the Museum’s educational outreach efforts. During the fellowship term, Fellows organize and facilitate professional development presentations in their community, share the Museum’s educational resources, and serve as teacher experts for the Museum. The fellowship term runs from June 2027 through December 2028 (18 months).

The program will feature a conversation moderated by Museum Director Sara J. Bloomfield between Auschwitz survivor and Museum volunteer Ruth Cohen and Musealia CEO Luis Ferreiro, director of the internationally acclaimed exhibition Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.
